After graduating top of her class from the Culinary Institute of America in Napa Valley with a degree in Baking & Pastry Arts and receiving the CIA’s Baking Achievement Award, Marina Sousa launched Just Cake in January of 2003. She quickly earned recognition for her impeccable style and the unmatched quality of her cake.
Marina’s work has been featured in several magazines, including InStyle, Bride, Modern Bride, Weddings of Distinction, Grace Ormonde Wedding Style and People. Marina has also appeared on the Food Network where she impressively clinched first place multiple times on their “Challenge” series. She has also served as a judge for the series.
Marina brings a unique perspective to the art of designing cakes. Her background in theatre and fashion allow her to envision designs through an uncommon lens. Experimenting with structure and defying gravity are as intriguing to her as replicating intricate lace.
